OSU- Lab #5

Friday we worked on our mitosis lab and finishing up the photosynthesis data. Mr. Dewitt was trying to take "inspirational" pictures..whatever.

Monkey Business

A former studet of Mrs. Hayes' made us a STEM sock monkey mascot named BOB. Bob will travel with us to our different locations. Friday Bob went to Ohio State Bio 113 lab and since it was a beautiful day, Emily, Trevor and Julie took him to Mirror Lake for this photo opportunity.

Nucleotide Sequences

We determine the nucleotide sequence in b-globin.

Extracting DNA

Liver, Strawberries and Kiwi were our source for DNA extraction. Cutting, Blending and using the centrifuge seemed to do the trick. Our "centrifuge thugs" did an excellent job of maintaining centrifugal force. HUH!
