HeLa Cells

Henrietta Lack passed away from cervical cancer in October of 1951. Her cancer cells have been growing in labs all over the world ever since. She has saved many lives and allowed the medical community to study and test cancer cells. We stained and examined these cells today and held a socratic seminar into "medical morality".

Activity Rates of Enzymes

Peroxidase is the enzyme we tested at our OSU lab. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of hydrogen peroxide which can be a toxic by-product of aerobic respiration. After we processed the turnips, we used the spectrophotometer to establish the peroxidase activity.

Biological Membranes

Week 3 for our OSU labs and we are booking. We are studying prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells and their membranes. Our labs consisted of functions of membranes and their composition of lipids, carbohydrates and proteins.

Molecules and Snuggie Day

During Spirit Week we dove into the molecular structures of biomolecules. Eric was warm and cozy building his molecules. Phong ,Kyle and Nathan got way too into it !!!






























CPR Certification

The class went to the new Ohio Health Center to get certified in CPR and the use of AED. All went well and we are now certified to save your life :) Anyone need rescued?
